Event Rules

The U.S. Sailing Center reserves the right to alter rules and regulations for the safe operation of the facility. U.S.Sailing Center is a tenant of the City of Miami, through the supervision of the Office of Asset Management.

2. Primary use of all docks at the U.S.Sailing Center is for the support of competitive sailing and the temporary tie-up, loading, unloading and wash down of all tenants or competitors associated with this site. Use of the hoist is limited to the weights indicated on attached hoist signs. Do not approach the hoist until you are prepared to launch your vessel. Courteous use of the hoist should be adhered to so as to refrain from obstructing any competitions and competitors associated with this site. Upon completion fo hoist use, boom shall be tied to restrict excess swing and damage to equipment, hook should be raised to a safe level for future boats, and the power shall be turned off.

3. Parking is limited on our leased property. There shall be no parking on the easternmost paved area at anytime except for limited repairs and equipment transfer.

4. Tailers shall not be left on the site at anytime, except for guidelines related to site requests for events or transfer, or unless a tenant Lease Agreement is signed and appropriate storage fees apply.

5. The City of Miami Parks Department prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages on City property. The events that have been granted written permission by City of Miami Special Events with the Parks Department to serve alcoholic beverages are the exception to this rule.

6. Public access to the shore front, piers and floating docks is not restricted.

7. Water use is monitored. Please shut off water when finished and coil the hose.

8. Ramp and water entrance area is for launching and recovery of vessels. Do not rig, de-rig or park in this area.

9. Trash receptacles are located randomly throughout the grounds. Any person found depositing trash on the property or adjacent waters will be in violation fo USCG pollution laws as well as the rules restricting any depositing of trash on the grounds except for in the receptacles.

10. No persons shall be allowed within the limits of the U.S.Sailing Center between the hours of 10:00pm and 6:00am. Gate hours may differ from these guidelines and will be the responsibility of the boat owner to confirm seasonal hours with Director of U.S.Sailing Center.

11. The traffic laws of the State of Florida are fully applicable except where these rules shall provide otherwise.

12. No person shall wash, polish, clean or repair any motor vehicle within the limits of the U.S.Sailing Center or the Kennedy Park area as City Ordinances provide.

13. No person shall park a vehicle so as to block any road or trail or to prevent access to others, nor shall they block another vehicle in a designated parking area.

14. Boats shall be launched or landed in designated areas.

15. The mooring of boats, the parking of vehicles, or engaging in any other activity on land or water so as to obstruct or restrict the use of the boat launching ramp or hoist by others is prohibited.

16. No person shall bring into the U.S.Sailing Center area any refuse, ashes, garbage, or other material for the purpose of disposal within said areas.

17. All refuse or waste materials shall not be left on the grounds or waters.

18. No person shall use profane language, or conduct themselves in a manner that is unacceptable as determined by the Director.

19. All requests must be submitted at least two (2) weeks prior to the event request date or the $50 late submission fee shall be applied to the total balance due.

20. Twenty four (24) hour advanced notice of cancellation is required or 10% of total request balance shall be due to the U.S.Sailing Center.

21. All requests are subject to advanced requests and availability.

22. A copy of the event chairman's driver's license must be submitted with deposit.

23. The U.S.Sailing Center shall provide written confirmation of request that shall serve as the event receipt and should be available upon request for any pickup or drop-off of equipment.
